Mizuno no Sawa’s  ’Avalanche Controled Area Education Program’  is ongoing everyday on regular basis when the condition is stable.  

This education program consists of 20min inside lecture with a slide show and actual 1 lap skiing/riding at Mizuno no Sawa with ski patrol’s supervision. 

There are 2 lectures held in a day:

Morning (Registration 9:30am: Lecture @10:00~)

Afternoon (Registration 12:30am: Lecture @13:00~)       

You can regist at Ski Patrol’s office, the top of former Higashiyama Gondola.

Fee: 2,000 yen for the entire 09-10 season.

Niseko Village Ski Patrol has been working on avalanche control on Mizuno no Sawa for 5 years and we had been dreaming to open up Mizuno no Sawa safely for the guests. 

 The picture below shows you the power of avalanch occured at the Mizuno no Sawa which reached to the top of community chair room.

At the end of the inside lecture, you will sign the waiver and accreditation card. 

After the inside lecture,  guests will spread into the smaller groups and check the entire view of Mizuno no Sawa  from the top.

Everyone wears a bib and ski patrol will lead the group and explain the basic hazardous points and areas.

Winter mountain sposrts are extremely fun but always some risks will follow you.

By attending this lecture, you will be awared bit more about the hazardous points in the mountain in general and will help for enjoy the powder  snow. 

Mizuno no Sawa educational program required to wear the bib which tells you that they are authorized skiers and snowboarders under the Mizuno no Sawa program.  Some incidents happen by people ducking the ropes, we have to end this program. Please coorporate us by not ducking the rope into Mizuno no Sawa and other permanentary closed areas.

Ski patrol will talk about the terrain features, history and risks and hazardous conditions with using Mizuno no Sawa terrain.

2 ski patrol will lead and follow each group.  The snow here is just amazing and you will love it. You can learn about the nature on the mountain and enjoy the powder!!

 Since this eduational program intoroduced and started this year, we believe we can improve this program by hearing many guests’s thoughts and opinions. Mizuno no Sawa program is open till late Feb. Please come and check it out and let us know your thoughts.
